Salton Sea State Recreational Area

The Salton Sea was formed by accident when the Colorado River flood its banks in the late 1800's. Today, the sea is hanging on as salt and chemicals runoff affect the diverse marine life that resides in and around the lake. The Salton Sea State Recreational Area offers picnic grounds, RV camping, shore access, a visitor center, and a small boat marina.
